Valentines Day Treats: Heart Cookies & Cookie Cakes!

Here’s an easy cookie recipe from Barbie over at Couponing Made Simple. (NOTE: Betty Crocker Cookie mix is BOGO at Publix, and cheap at Rite-Aid too!)

Just make your favorite, nut free cookies(nuts probably won’t cut nicely with the cookie cutter), as a bar by pressing the dough into a greased baking sheet and bake. Once the cookies are baked just take your cookie cutters and cut out the cookies. Allow the cookies cool a few minutes before removing to a cooling rack.
Once they had cooled, we decorated them with melted candy. That’s it!

Here’s how to make a Valentine Cookie Cake from Laurie over at PassionatePennyPincher!

  1. Mix together a roll of refrigerated cookie dough & 3/4 cup of corn syrup with blender. (Pillsbury roll on sale at Publix $2, use $.50/1 HERE)
  2. Pour onto greased pan.
  3. Pat down with hand; wet your hand with a little water so that it doesn’t stick!
  4. Bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Decorate with homemade or store bought frosting with a bag & tip.
