Crockpot Chicken with Homemade BBQ Sauce Inspired by The Chew

Crockpot BBQ chicken

I absolutely love BBQ sauce, especially my family’s homemade recipe.  One of my favorite summertime recipes is grilled chicken hot off the grill slathered in BBQ sauce. Truthfully, I prefer twice as much sauce as chicken as you might have noticed in the image above. Recently, after watching an episode of ABC’s The Chew about BBQ chicken (see clip below) I really wanted BBQ chicken for dinner. However, I knew the next day we had already planned a full day out to the Chattanooga Duck Tour, and then Coolidge Park. So, I improvised and decided to use the crockpot instead.

I didn’t want ordinary crockpot BBQ chicken! This episode totally inspired me to make my family’s homemade BBQ sauce. Not only is the BBQ sauce amazing, the smell brought back so many wonderful memories of my daddy. I remember standing by his side so many times while he was cooking on the grill, or stirring a big pot of homemade BBQ sauce. I’ve included my family’s secret (or now not so secret) recipe below. It was so nice after a fun day out with the kiddos to have dinner almost ready when we walked in the door.

Hey America! What’s Your ID? #whatsyourid

Last week I attended The Savvy Blogging Summit in Cincinnati,Ohio.  One of the sponsors of the event, International Delight, provided a smorgasbord of steaming coffee, creamers, and iced coffee options every day.  I was rooming with three of my favorite blogger girlfriends that I only get to hang out with at blogging conferences.  To say that coffee was a necessity is an understatement after staying up late every night giggling and being silly. So fun!

I couldn’t believe how many different flavors of creamer and iced coffee they had.  Seriously, a coffee lovers dream. Although it would have been the perfect opportunity for me to try new flavors, I stuck with my favorite creamer, Sugar Free Hazelnut.  It tastes perfectly smooth with the right amount of sweetness.

International Delight recently launched a fun new campaign, “What’s Your Id?” where you can share your favorite coffee id, and enter to win tons of great prizes like a Magical Trip Grand Prize, Visa Gift Cards, Cold Stone Gift Cards, a year’s supply of ID and more!  Simply click here to register, pick your favorite flavor id and it “pins” to your taste profile on the map.

As I was recently perusing Pinterest tons of recipes using ID products kept popping up. I was so inspired I created a Hazelnut Pinterest board just for fun that includes recipes and even design inspiration.  Afterall, Hazelnut is the perfect color palette!

What’s Your ID? International Delight is looking for their most passionate flavor fans. Put your ID on the map to enter to win a Magical Trip, play games and discover more unexpected delight. Share your ID flavor at http://whatsyourid.com

  • Reminder: NEVER use a Register Reward from one item on the same item again, or it will not print out the Register Reward that it was supposed to!  Read more HERE.
  • Pick up the monthly Walgreens coupon pamphlet for store coupons.  These can be stacked with MFR. coupons for extra savings!
  • Check your pharmacy area for more coupons from the Diabetes & You Magazine, any pamphlets put out by companies, tearpads and more.  Ask at the cosmetics counter for coupons – they often have them behind the counter.
  • You can not have more coupons that items in your transaction so you might need to grab a cheap “filler” to make sure that the register accepts all of your coupons.
