Starting Simple: Get a Free Toothbrush & Body Wash @ CVS!

Welcome to “Starting Simple”, our weekly posts helping BRAND SPANKING NEW couponers get in the coupon saddle for the first time!  This week I want to show you how to walk out of CVS with a FREE Oral B toothbrush and FREE RightGuard Bodywash.  Sound Good?  Then let’s begin!

The focus of this Starting Simple is  Buy a CVS item that receives Extra Care Bucks and then USE those “ECB’s” to buy another item.

Extra Care Bucks (ECB’s) are like “CVS money”.  You can spend these bucks on anything in the store, including another deal that produces ECB’s!  By buying items from our Weekly CVS Highlights that produce Extra Care Bucks, and using those bucks to buy other ECB deals week after week, you can essentially get new items each week for free.

See the full CVS Weekly Highlights HERE

1) The first thing we’ll do is walk in the store, grab an ad, and head to the toothbrush section.  Pick up one of the Oral B toothbrushes that is on sale for $2.99 and will generate a $.99 Extra Care Buck.  Then head over to the body wash and look for a RightGuard BodyWash that has a yellow “Peelie” coupon stuck to it.  You should have no problem finding one with a coupon attached, but if you do – it’s okay!

2) First Transaction:
Scan your CVS Card
Buy 1 Oral B Manual Toothbrush = $2.99
Use the $2 off coupon found in the 4/3 Proctor & Gamble insert*
Pay $.99 ~ Get $.99 Extra Care Bucks (Limit of 1 deal per customer)

*You’ll need to have bought the April 3rd Sunday paper to have these coupons.  Didn’t buy it?  Ask a neighbor, family member or friend!

3) After the first transaction is finished, tear the $.99 ECB coupon from the bottom of your receipt and purchase the Right Guard Body Wash.  Right Guard Body Wash is $3.88, and you’ll get $3 ECB back on your receipt.

4) Second Transaction:
Scan your CVS Card
Buy 1 RightGuard BodyWash = $3.88
Use the $1/1 coupon found on the bodywash
Use your $.99 ECB
Pay $1.89 ~ Get $3 Extra Care Bucks (Limit of 1 deal per customer)

Now if there is something else in this week’s ad that you want/need, you can spend your $3 ECB on that.  Otherwise, hold onto it for the next week’s sales (Begining 4/10) and I’ll show you some more items you can get for FREE!

This is excellent. I am a “veteran couponer” but you have really helped me and a lot of other people with this weekly explanation.

    Thank you.
