{Part 5} Couponing at 18: Elizabeth’s Journey

Meet Elizabeth – a sweet girl we know, who recently started couponing. We all kind of want to be her momma:)
See the first 4 updates she sent us HERE.

Hey everyone! I hope that your Christmas went well! Also Happy New Year!!!

Recently I made a life change by moving into my own apartment! This is a very exciting and potentially scary process. However, I am really excited to start a new chapter in my life. This will also be a chance to use MANY coupons.

So, the first thing I needed to buy for my apartment was toothpaste and laundry detergent. I found toothpaste for $3.99 at Rite-Aid and recieved $3.99 in Rite-Aid +UP Rewards. I was so excited to find this deal that I bought ten tubes of toothpaste! Then, I used my Rite-Aid Rewards to buy laundry detergent that I had coupons for. I don’t really have anything for my apartment yet. So, if anyone knows of any good deals on anything you think might help me, I would really appreciate your comment. Thank you very much for reading my blog.  Happy New Year!

Stay tuned for next week, and I will put your comments to good use on my next shopping adventure.

Your thifty friend,

Elizabeth

Also check out freecycle.org for a freecycle group in your area… it’s an online group where people post things they don’t want anymore.

Go to The Salvation Army Thrift Store and Goodwill; this time of year they get lots of good stuff from people cleaning out their closets, donating unwanted christmas items and moving out the old to replace with the new.
Another good time is late feb-april, people tend to buy new furniture with their tax refund checks and donate the old items.
Craigslist is always a great place to check as well; start with the FREE section. People are in generous moods and it is easy to set it out front and put a craigslist ad-free for them too!
