Jamie’s CVS Trip: Paid $6 for Items worth $44!

Jamie here!  I ran into CVS this afternoon to pick up my free nail polish and cheap cereal.  Here’s my little haul – I spent $5.97 after coupons & ECB’s, and saved 86%.

Revlon Nail Polish $4.99 (Reg $5.99)  ~ Get back $3 ECB’s (Limit 6)
I used (5) $2/1 Revlon Cosmetic Coupons from 7/28 SS
Got back $15 Extra Care Bucks

Big G Kids Cereals $2.88 (Reg $4.79) ~ Get back $3 ECB wyb 3
I used $1/2 GM Cereals PRINT
Got back $3 Extra Care Bucks

Total after coupons/discounts $5.97.
Total before coupons/discounts $44.32.
That’s a savings of 86%!

I shop CVS nearly every week for at least a couple good items – and I just keep using the Extra Care Bucks I receive to fund next week’s CVS shopping trip.  This way you’re never paying too much out of pocket.

We’d love to hear what you got this week – feel free to share in the comments or post on our Time2Save Facebook Page!

did you do separate transactions? If all in one did you get one $15.00 ECB or 5 $3.00 ones.

    • Sharon – I got a big fat $15 ECB, but if you want to do them seperately to reduce your out of pocket cost – I suggest doing this:

      1) Buy (3) Nail polish $5.98 after coupons ~ Get back $6 ECB
      2) Buy (3) Nail polish $0 after coupons and ECB ~ Get back $6 ECB
      3) Use those $6 ECB to purchase cereal, toothpaste or any of the other good deals this week, or save for next week’s deals

*NOTE: Your second transaction, the cashier will have to manually adjust your ECB’s to be a few cents less, so the register won’t beep that your total is less than $0. :)
