The elves here at Time 2 Save (located significantly south of the North Pole!) have been hard at work finding you the best & brightest of deals to make your holidays as special and budget-friendly as possible. Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, there are freebies to be had–and you don’t even need to know where to look, because we’ve got you covered on that! So we told you how to get a good deal Cyber Monday on a Kindle Fire (as well as the deal starting Sunday at Staples), now we’re going to give you a road map to how to fill it up on the cheap.
- From the main page at Amazon.com, look to the left hand side where all the categories are listed. Hover your mouse over “Kindle” and you’ll see the Kindle choices drop-down menu. Click “Kindle Books”. .
.
.
- ALL KINDS of books will magically appear on your screen. You have a couple of options from here. If you want a certain kind of book, such as “Children’s Books“, click on that category from the left hand side (See above). The screen will be covered with children’s books. .
.
.
- Look to the far right, where it says “Best Sellers” and click the “Top 100 Free” tab. Download away! No matter what category you choose – there will be some freebies.
I keep my Kindle in my purse; the other night, one of my nieces got restless and I pulled it out and started reading her a story. What a lifesaver!
The other option is to click “Best Sellers“. It will pull up the Top 100 Paid and the Top 100 Free, broken down into 20 at a time. I look at the Top 100 Free books two or three times a week. It’s updated hourly, and of course we all know Amazon prices change frequently. I have well over 100 books on my Kindle, and I have paid less than $10 for all that’s on there! I keep it in my purse so that if I get stuck waiting somewhere, I don’t kill the battery on my phone playing “Bejeweled”.

For music, the process is pretty similar, “tune in” next Friday for a little tutorial on how to get FREE MP3′s from Amazon! For now – make sure you head over to check out the 25 Days of Free Holiday Songs promotion Amazon is running right now to grab some free festive music!
Now that I’ve saved you scads of money, let’s talk Time 2 Give….at my office, we are corporate partners with the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree campaign. Last week, the Salvation Army extended the Angel Tree deadline because they had 1,149 children literally left hanging on the Angel Tree. (For the Chattanooga Mall, that’s now Dec. 9th – for other areas, it’s as late as Dec. 14) You know what is in your budget and in your heart. If you can help, please call the Salvation Army at 423.756.1023. They can tell you where to get a name of a needy child or senior citizen. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
