Our sweet friend Laurie over at Passionate Penny Pincher posted this perfectly precious craft for making Christmas wreaths out of ribbon!  We just had to share it – thanks Laurie!

Two friends of mine found some cute ideas over on Pinterest, so we got together to make these and I’m so excited to have mine done!  It’s easy, won’t take you more than 30 minutes, and if you have a friend who wants the same colored wreath, you can make them fairly inexpensively.  Here’s what you’ll need . . .

Here’s a recipe for a deliciously salty/sweet treat that is sure to please!  Kasey shared this recipe with me year before last  - and last year my father-in-law, who is a Church of God pastor (and therefore eats very well) loved it so much he nearly fought another pastor over the last few pieces :)   It’s called Saltine Toffee or sometimes “Pine Bark”.  It’s not fancy, it’s not pretentious – and the ingredients are cheap – that’s my favorite kind of recipe!

Here’s a super clever way to make pretty glass ornaments – I’ve done this once using a craft kit to make stained glass ornaments and it turned out okay – but this way you can just use some of that free/cheap nail polish you might have gotten this year.

Thanks to our in house photographer, Cortney Wheeler of Cortney Wheeler Photography for these fabulous photo ideas!  There are so many memories and traditions to capture of our families during the Christmas Season!  Instead, of “posed” pictures this years, think lifestyle.  Capture your kids in action, memories you will treasure for years to come.

Christmas 2011 – Christmas Eve Appetizers.  My little man, with his broken arm.

Cooking / Favorite Foods

Before everyone “digs in” to the delicious spread of food. Get your camera out, and photograph your favorite dishes. I love the way my Grandmother’s apple pie looks, and Aunt Karen’s yummy sweet potato casserole. You could even have some relatives hold out their dishes, and they could be in the photo with it! Then, next year create a photo book of your family’s favorite recipes to give as a gift.  What better way to remember these special recipes for years to come!

My little ones helping make fudge!

Baking with the Kiddos – This would be so fun to do with your kids!

You could capture them helping stir batter, cracking eggs, their little hands using cookie cutters shapes, and licking the spoon “Oh” the list goes on!

Christmas 2012- Lets focus on the traditions and the details!

Trimming the tree, the lights, special ornaments, and kids stringing popcorn, the giggles… Wrapping and unwrapping the gifts. I always try to capture their excited faces!  **If you put your camera on the sports setting, it will have a super-fast shutter, and your images shouldn’t be blurry even with the fast movements of an excited child.

One of the best (re: yummiest) parts of Advent, Christmas and beyond is straight up, all kidding aside, no bones about it – fattening wonderful delicious food.  I’m talking the kind you don’t mind putting on a couple pounds for.  The song lyrics from Oliver immediately comes to mind:
