A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine posted the following update on Facebook – “Random information to my mom friends of school age children. (not just homeschoolers…this would be great for anyone!) We are really, really enjoying The Picture Smart Bible curriculum. It teaches an overview of each book of the Bible. My kids are able to retain a lot of information because they are drawing/coloring something to remind them of each event/person. They BEG to do it each day and don’t want to stop when we are done!” Immediately I googled, The Picture Smart Bible and emailed Dan Peters, who created the curriculum and asked if he would be interested in Time 2 $ave hosting a review and giveaway. He immediately responded with a “Yes, we are blessed that so many are seeing this as God’s tool for a picture generation and want to help in “getting the word out.” [Read more...]
Recently, I partnered with Home Depot to co-host a Pinterest Inspired Do-It-Herself Workshop all about Succulent Container Gardens. The big event was last Thursday, we had a crowd y’all, it was so much fun. Thanks to everyone that came out, it was so great to meet you in person. Although I have always loved vegetable gardening this was my first Succulent Garden lesson. Basically, Succulents are very hardy plants that require very little upkeep and minimal watering. Yes, my kind of plant! There are many different varieties with the most popular being cacti and aloe plants. During the workshop we learned step-by-step how to plant a Succulent Garden I couldn’t wait to plant my own.
Here are just a couple of pics from the Do-It-Herself Workshop. Home Depot even gave away a gas grill and the containers we made during the workshop! The store manager presented me with a hand painted Home Depot apron. It was such a kind gesture, and the apron was painted beautifully.
My kids had baseball and softball games all weekend, so we didn’t make it to Home Depot to pick up our supplies until Sunday afternoon. It was raining like crazy, and I don’t mean just a little bit. There were flood watches everywhere, first time I’ve ever picked out planters in the garden department under an umbrella. Otherwise, I was planning on filming what I was buying but we were a wet mess.
The kids helped me pick out their favorite Succulents, after looking at every single plant several times over (no exaggeration y’all it took forever). Love these sweet little hands. If it would have been up to them, we would have bought every single one!
Below I have included a list of supplies you’ll need to create a Succulent Garden. We bought a beautiful large blue planter to use as a centerpiece on the table on our screened in porch. Then, a smaller planter for the kids bathroom.
Don’t forget to check out my Pinterest board of Succulent Gardens for additional inspiration.
Here is a step-by-step You Tube Video I filmed to help you create your own Succulent Garden. We’ve also got (1)$100 Home Depot gift card to give away to one Time 2 $ave reader!! Follow directions below to enter.

Recently, I was given the opportunity to review Good Cook nonstick cutlery as a Good Cook Kitchen Expert at no charge in exchange for my reviewing the product. Since I have the same set of knives I received as a wedding shower gift over sixteen years ago I jumped at the chance. I was especially excited to try out my first Santoku knife after watching Rachel Ray for years on TV dice veggies at lightening speed with hers. I had no idea how dull my knife set had gotten, honestly I was using steak knives for just about everything I have never had a complete set. I could not wait to put them to use! After making a commitment to eat healthier last month, I put these knives to the test. I have literally used them every single day since we are eating fresh fruits and veggies and have cut processed foods out of our diets. Below I have included a couple of examples of how I have used the nonstick cutlery in my kitchen.
Also, Good Cook is giving away one set of non-stick knives to one Time 2 $ave reader!

Recently my family has made a new commitment to cut processed foods out of our diet. While I have been preparing many of our meals from scratch it’s so nice to have granola bars on hand for a quick snack or breakfast on the run. Especially on Sunday mornings on the way to church, and Tuesdays on the way to our homeschool group. I was super excited to discover that the new flavors of Cascadian Farm Granola Bars – Oats & Honey and Peanut Butter are certified organic (like all Cascadian Farm products) and only contain seven ingredients. Not only that, they are extra yummy and Publix® is carrying the new flavors. But, don’t take my word for it you’ve got to try them out too! Plus, I’ve got an awesome sponsored gift pack to give away to one lucky Time 2 $ave reader that includes 4 Cascadian Farms granola bars (2 each oats & honey and peanut butter) and a $25 Publix gift card! See directions below to enter! [Read more...]
