Low Carb Meal Ideas: Bountiful Harvest Chicken Soup

While I attended Blissdom, a blogging conference, in Dallas earlier this year I had the absolute best soup at one of the restaurants in the hotel.  It was chicken broth based with tons of fresh veggies like zucchini, squash, onions, and carrots.  I was determined to figure out how to recreate this recipe once I got home and add to my list of low carb meal ideas.  After some trial and error, Bountiful Chicken and Veggie Harvest Soup was a success!  Since the first time I made it a couple of months ago, it’s become a regular addition to our dinner menu. Especially now that it’s gotten colder, a good hearty soup just feels cozy. An added bonus, Bountiful Chicken and Veggie Harvest Soup is super healthy!

AdvoCare Recipes: Day One Meal Plan

Kasey here, I’ve posted several times about the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge. My husband and started our first challenge in March. Since then, we have completely changed how we eat and he has lost 34lbs and 26 inches. Basically, the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge is a healthy eating lifestyle. It starts with a 10 day cleanse, then continues with the same basic eating plan but adds in incredible supplements during the second phase. Since we basically follow the 24-Day challenge as a lifestyle now, I wanted to start a cleanse before the holidays. You can read our story here.


Last night, I posted the above picture of my groceries on my personal facebook page and had several people ask me if I would post what kinds of foods I was eating, or a meal plan. Roasted Sweet Potatoes are so yummy and delicious! I used to make them all the time, I don’t know why I forgot about this recipe. In my quest to continue to eat clean and healthy this recipe came to mind. It was super easy and my kids LOVED it! Looks like we will be adding Roasted Sweet Potatoes to the dinner rotation. I made a pork tenderloin in the crock pot and served with a side of green beans and a salad.

Homemade Vegetable Soup Recipe

Since we started our 24-day healthy eating challenge, we’ve eaten a lot of grilled chicken and salad.  As I was racking my brain trying to come up with an idea for dinner that didn’t involve chicken, vegetable soup came to mind.  It’s one of my all time favorite meals, and it reminds me of my precious daddy.  He always called it “Red Soup,” one of his favorite meals to cook when my mom had to work late.  Of course he’d cook a steaming pan of delicious cornbread, I always loved crumbling a big piece of moist cornbread right in my vegetable soup.  But……cornbread isn’t part of the plan during our 24-day healthy eating challenge.  So, I asked our Time 2 $ave Facebook community their secret to homemade vegetable soup.  I incorporated several suggestions to make the best Vegetable soup ever!!

Kasey here, over the past couple of months I’ve told y’all about how my husband and have made decisions to change our health for the better. Back in March, we started AdvoCare products and the 24-Day Challenge. My husband wanted to lose weight, and I just wanted to feel better. I was tired all the time and had zero energy. With the holidays quickly approaching, now is the time to make changes towards a healthy lifestyle and lose weight and/or gain more energy before the hustle and bustle of the holidays begins.

AdvoCare Update! Three Months after the 24-Day Challenge!

Kasey here, it’s officially been a little over three months since we finished our AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge.  Many people are curious about what happens after the challenge ends. Do you gain back the weight you lost? Continue eating the same way? My husband finished his 24-Day challenge losing 11.6 lbs and 8 inches.  Since that time we have continued to follow the eating guidelines by cutting most processed foods out of our diet.  We do allow for sweets on special occasions (opposed to every day before we started the challenge). We are much more aware of how the food that we put in our mouth affects our bodies and how we feel.  One of the results I’m most proud of is stopping our diet coke addiction. When I say addiction, I’m not kidding! We both used to drink up to 10 a day!  We don’t drink it AT ALL anymore!  We both drink water now. Huge change y’all. Huge! [Read more...]

Recently, I told you about my husband and I embarking on the AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge. Never would I have guessed that 24 days would make such a difference in our lives.  I wanted to update you on the final results.  We not only survived our AdvoCare 24-Day Challenge  but actually enjoyed the change.  In the beginning we were counting down the days until it was over so we could eat our “favorite” foods again.  It didn’t take long for our mindset to change.  Before we knew it, instead of counting down the days until our 24 days was over, we decided that we wanted to continue through day 25 and beyond.  Going without diet coke, coffee, sugar, and processed foods for 24 days was literally life changing for us.   [Read more...]
