My friend Eric sent me a link he got from Vocal Point for a $1/1 Starkist Tuna Pouch (Firefox Link!) These go on sale all the time, so print it out and stick it in your binder for later!
I like to stock up on these for free to make “Sorry-Charlie-Casserole”. What is THAT, you ask?
When my brother and I were little, my mom would make tuna-casserole a lot during Lent (Fish was often too expensive for us). We didn’t like the sound of it, so we complained the first few times. Mom always said “Sorry Charlie, that’s what we’re having!” and we ate it anyway. Eventually, when we asked what was for dinner, mom would just start telling us “It’s Sorry Charlie Casserole!” A silly name made all the difference, so we ate it happily. If you’re short on cash or ideas for a kid-friendly dinner, here’s the very easy recipe:
————————————–
- 1 Can/Pouch of Tuna (in water)
- 1 Box of Macaroni & Cheese
- 1 Can Cream of Mushroom
- A couple slices of Velveeta (optional)
